"Although advertised as a "pet for the 21st century", Funky Chicks are really a very basic but cute toy that would make a good gift. Despite their simplicity, they use an interesting technology that isn't incorporated into many electronic pets - the feet hidden underneath contain metal contacts, so that when placed in the palm of a human hand (or anywhere else on the body) the electrical circuit is completed, and the chick responds by tweeting and then singing a song if handled for long enough. The plastic eggshell is a fun way to store and protect the chick, and the way they were designed so the shell colour matches the cute mohican hair colour was a nice little touch."
