User Points show your level of experience within ElectronicPets.org, and gradually we will be introducing benefits and rewards to members with the highest numbers of points! Guide to Collecting User Points Getting Started When you join ElectronicPets.org, there are 4 basic tasks to complete to build your initial stock of User Points. You can keep track of these on your Account page. • Add profile details - 25 points Go to your account and click “Edit My Profile” to fill in your basic details such as Location, Gender, and a bit about you. Date of Birth is optional - you’ll still get your points if you leave this out. • Select an Avatar - 20 points Your avatar is the little picture that represents you by appearing next to your user name on your profile and discussion posts. To select an avatar, go to your account and click “Add/Edit Avatar”. • “Pets I Want/Own” - 20 points Get 10 points for each when you add your first pets to the “Pets I Want” and “Pets I Own” lists! Add a pet to either list by going to the pet’s info page and clicking the appropriate button. • Choose Favourite Pet - 20 points Let everyone know what your favourite electronic pet is, and get 20 points in the process! Go to your account and click “Select Favourite Pet”. You can change your favourite pet any time you like.   An example of the info box on your Account page that keeps track of your User Points Hidden Pet Points Number of clicks left today: 10 Yesterday's golden monkey coin was at: FurReal Snuggimals Kitten Yesterday’s Hidden Pet Point finders: 1 - none 2 - none 3 - none 4 - none 5 - none 6 - none 7 - none 8 - none 9 - none 10 - none Building your User Points As you get involved with ElectronicPets.org, you’ll notice your User Points automatically building up. There are five main ways to collect them: • Posting in “Discuss” - 1 point You’ll get a point every time you post a reply, create a new topic or vote in a poll in the “Discuss” section. • Writing Pet Reviews - 15 to 20 points You get 20 points for the first 10 electronic pet reviews you write, then 15 points for every one after. To write a review, click the “Write a Review” button located on each pet’s info page. • Contributing to ElectronicPets.org - 10 to 30 points You’ll get 10-20 points for reporting missing/incorrect pet details, unlisted electronic pets, or website errors/bugs, and up to 30 points for sending us an electronic pet testimonial/anecdote. Submissions need to be approved, so points may take up to 48 hours to appear. Please make sure you’re logged in when you contribute! • Putting up Banners - 50 points If you put a banner linking to ElectronicPets.org onto your webpage or blog, you’ll get 50 points! Banners are located on the Contribute page. Please click here to let us know if you’ve put one up. • Hidden Pet Points - 25 points Win points every day by finding the golden monkey coin hidden on a random pet’s info page. The pet with the coin changes daily and each day, the first 10 members to find it get 25 points! Once the coin has been clicked 10 times, it’ll disappear until the next day.
